Attack the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter
The origin of problems, in general, can often be traced back to a single strong individual – the troublemaker, the arrogant subordinate, the poisoner of goodwill. If you allow these people to operate freely, others will succumb to their influence. Don't wait for the problems they cause to multiply, don't try to negotiate with them – they are irredeemable. Neutralize their influence by isolating or banishing them. Attack the source of the problems, and the flock will disperse.
